This citadel carved in the rock, atop a mountain at the bottom of the Alborz chain is located 80 km from the main road. But once there, you actually discover three sites: Alamut (Gazo Khan), Meimundiz (very close to each other) and, much further, Lammasar. These pristine citadels were built by an Islamic sect, Les, in the heart of the long longitudinal valleys, upper branches of the Safid Rud River.

Mon avis concerne le château de Gazo Khan; le site vaut le détour !
Après une montée d'environ 30 minutes à pente assez raide, vous accèdez au château en ruines dominant toute la vallée Alamut et surplombant le village de Gazo Khan.
D'importants travaux de restauration et de recherches archéologiques ont lieu dans le château donc l'accès est quelque peu restreint mais la vue est superbe !
