The Foshay Tower is an Art Deco building that was the tallest tower in Minneapolis until 1971
The Foshay Tower is named after its sponsor, Wilbur Foshay. A millionaire who, in a final gesture of eccentricity, embarked on the construction of this 136-metre-high tower. This Art Deco building was the tallest tower in Minneapolis until 1971. Construction was completed in 1929. The interior is rich in marble, mahogany and mosaics. The tower was renovated in 2006 and converted into a hotel. The observatory on the thirtieth floor offers a 360-degree view of the city.
