THE RIVIERA

The building on the lake shore has been part of the town's scenery and history since 1932, when it was built on stilts driven into the rock. In the swing era, it was a major concert venue where people came to hear the Big Bands play, with emblematic figures such as Louis Armstrong. Today it is the summer headquarters of the Lake Geneva Cruise Line, which offers tours and trips on the lake in gleaming boats. The fountain is a replica of New York's Bethesda Fountain.
