Museum and archaeological research center with 7 galleries that trace the habits and customs of ancient Eastern civilizations.
Founded in 1919 by James Henry Breasted - the first American to earn a doctorate in Egyptology - the Oriental Institute is the University of Chicago's archaeological research center and museum. It is dedicated to the Near East and sponsors numerous field missions. Seven galleries trace the habits and customs of ancient Eastern civilizations. A huge statue of Tutankhamen marks the entrance to the Egyptian gallery, where several mummies are stored.

Vraiment très intéressant. De petite taille par rapport aux musées plus connus de Chicago évidemment, il possède toutefois des artéfacts archéologiques de valeur inestimable.
The best at Chicago and around
