The city's best-known hamburger, the one that Chicagoans keep bragging about, can be found at Au Cheval. It is eaten on one of the benches or facing the zinc, in a long, dark room that cultivates the mysterious side of the place. We warn you, you may have to wait in line for two hours to taste it! Try to arrive early, put your name on the list and go and have a drink at the bar next door while you wait. We like the burger as much as we like the atmosphere.
