Site in Bouctouche offering dramatizations of the story of a 72 year old Acadian woman with characters from the play
This site brings to life the Acadia of the early 20th century and is inspired by Antonine Maillet's famous play, La Sagouine (1971). The site is animated by the characters of the play, who present plays, sing or play music. The main attraction is the Île-aux-Puces, which is accessed by a footbridge and where brightly colored fishermen's huts and a wharf where boats are moored have been reconstructed. By talking with the "inhabitants", you will learn about the ancestral way of life of the Acadians of this region.
