Park with short trails including the Mallard Lake Trail and the winding Shoreline Trail where eagles can be seen.
Perfect destination for hikers, cyclists and campers. Newcastle was the site of two Indian Salish villages before British settlers discovered coal in 1849. Since then, the land has become uncultivated again and the trails are relatively short (up to 4 km), including the Mallard Lake Trail, which leads to the lake of the same name, and the Shoreline Trail, characterized by its winding path along the cliffs and suitable for observing eagles.
