Bridge for pedestrians and cyclists, crossing the River Bow from the city center to the Kensington district.
In 2008, the City of Calgary agreed to a project to build a new bridge, Peace Bridge , exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the Bow River from the downtown area to the Kensington area further north. This metal architectural structure was built in 2 years and opened in March 2012. Approximately 6,000 people use the bridge, which is 126 meters long and 8 meters wide, every day. The bridge has become a must-see and iconic place in the city!
