Just off the RN1, near the Loufoulakari waterfalls and some 30km from Kinkala, the Nguela cirque, better known as the "Trou de Dieu", is a vast depression in the shape of a volcano crater. An ancient volcano or the impact of a meteorite, depending on the source, the place is no less impressive. Considered a sacred site, visiting it requires the agreement of the surrounding populations. Before entering the cirque, make sure you understand the terms of this agreement. Staying on the outskirts to contemplate this deep basin, which offers a sumptuous viewpoint over the road to Kinkala, should not pose a problem..
