CERCLE MANIKA

The recreational circle of the Manika, known as the Gécamines circle, was a social place at a time not so long ago, where balls and recitals were organized... And where you could practice sports and relax in society. Today, it is painful to see from the outside. The old Olympic swimming pool is abandoned, surrounded by fallow grass. Nevertheless, its outdated charm still has an effect. And it is about to be refurbished. The large Manika room with its rows of vintage seats is operational, and currently hosts the Provincial Assembly. As well as occasional shows (screenings, concerts...). The tennis courts, neglected a few years ago, have already been rehabilitated by the nearby Fit & Food sports centre.
