It used to be a restaurant. The sign has remained, but the decor and menu have changed, as in recent years it has become a good, slightly wild bar. Essentially a "day club", the music can get quite loud after a certain hour. But Le Basilic remains one of the most popular addresses in town for Kinshasa's party-goers, with all the usual trimmings: mirror, ndombolo, etc. The bar area is on the second floor. "For a well-deserved afterwork, it's a bit like my church", said one of our regular friends.
