IRON MARKET

As a candidate for inclusion in the list of monuments of national historic heritage, the Jacmel Iron Market is made up of architectural elements imported from Europe more than a century ago. Because it is exposed to the wear and tear of time and in order to prevent it from falling into ruins, modern facilities have been added in recent years without altering its authentic character. It has become too small to accommodate all the merchants of Jacmel, and continues to be expanded and renovated. In 2018, the work was still ongoing.
