Located in Achao, this alerce and cypress wood church was built in 1764 in the Chilean Jesuit style.
One comes to Achao of course for its church of Santa María de Loreto all of wood of alerce and cypress dressed, the oldest of the archipelago since it was built in 1764 (patrimony of the Humanity of the UNESCO). Fortunately, the fire of 1784, which almost completely ruined the hamlet, did not have time to tackle this superb example of Jesuit architecture in Chile. In the past, side wings were used to shelter pilgrims from the rain.
