Inside or on the terrace, this restaurant with its green and purple façade, offers good food in a bohemian and artistic atmosphere. A la carte, vegetarian dishes, fruit juices, good selection of homemade beers and huge sandwiches. Our preference is still for good and delicious burgers, opt for the Fatboy or the Gran Pit. The place is often crowded with Chileans and locals, especially in high season, which can sometimes make the waiting time excessive! One of our best addresses in town, healthy and warm.

Tomas, a young leader, is responsible for this ambitious project. It is open for all at noon, but in the evening the kitchen space receives on reservation only (48 hours in advance, between 6 and 12 people). Tomas will then share its culinary know-how, a fusion between traditional and flavors of the world. A wine bar also offers tasty Chilean wines, cheese and meats. It's one of the most popular restaurants in town: it's always full or almost full! You can sit on the pleasant outdoor patio and enjoy hearty dishes of good quality. Whether it's grilled fish (caught locally) or shrimp risotto, the menu offers good options and changes regularly. Vegetarian dishes are also available. Finally, the place is very lively, with its pub-like atmosphere: it's loud, the children enjoy it, and it's perfect with friends or family.

This good address pays tribute to the riches of the sea: every Friday from 8 pm, an all-you-can-eat buffet is set up and offers almonds with parmesan, sea urchins, oysters, shrimps, smoked salmon, ceviche, conger eel, marine paella, pastel de centolla... You will find a wide range of local products generously served and you will be able to taste the famous pisco sour. The service would have been a bit outdated in the last years, but the good value for money is still there and the products are still as fresh as ever. A good way to fill up on iodine!

Open since 1959, it is known as the "big little café of Valdivia". The warm wooden interior is decorated with period mugs and crockery. They serve pies, kuchen with nuts, empañadas, sandwiches and an excellent draught beer. But people come here above all for its crudo, a typical German-Chilean dish consisting of a "steak tartare with onions", which is the specialty of the house! A historical reference where the service may be slow, but the attention is always there. Good value for money.

It is the fish and vegetable market of Valdivia where Sunday strollers come to feast on cherries by the lake. The market is also visited by several sea lions, sometimes waiting to be served a small piece of fish! They have taken up residence there and come regularly to do their shopping. Do like them and enjoy, for a small price, fish, mariscos (seafood) and curantos de Chiloé. The products are of course fresh and local, which will ensure a quality meal at a lower cost.
