Founded in 1875 by Luis Pereira, Santa Carolina is one of the oldest and most prestigious vineyards in Chile and one of the few remaining in Santiago. With more than 2,000 hectares in the country's main wine-growing valleys, Santa Carolina produces varied, high-quality wines that reflect the local terroir and are now present in more than 80 countries on five continents. In 2018, the Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 ranked third among the best wines of the year in the New York Wine Enthusiast magazine.

Je conseille aussi la visite de la Viña Cousino Macul ( Av. Quilín 7100 Peñalolén, Santiago ), un des plus vieux vignobles de Santiago. On peut réserver directement sur leur site, et s'y rendre en métro (Quilin), puis prendre un taxi (5 min). Excellents vins, dégustation accompagnée de fromages locaux. On peut aussi faire une excursion en vélo à travers les vignes
