A 33-metre-high lighthouse built in 1862, an ideal place to visit for a panoramic view of the town and the ocean
The visit of this 33 meters high lighthouse allows to enjoy a large panorama on the city and on the ocean. Built in 1862, it is open to the public since 2007. At the end of the 18th century, at the time of the Travancore kingdom, this place was one of the most important trading ports of Kerala. Previously all white, it now has horizontal red and white stripes. The ascent, quite trying, is done through a spiral staircase in teak of 27 meters.
