Museum featuring a collection of bronze and wooden statues, ivory sculptures and Javanese and Balinese objects
The park north of MG Road includes a zoo, a natural history museum and several art and history museums. The Napier Museum, named after a former Governor General of Madras, is housed in a jewel of architectural exuberance, combining traditional Kerala styles with a healthy dose of Mughal and Chinese influences. It features a collection of bronze and wooden statues, ivory carvings, and Javanese and Balinese artifacts, including leather puppets used for shadow play.
