ST. JOSEPH METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL

Also called Palayam Palli, the Catholic Cathedral of St. Joseph, with its beautiful neo-Gothic architecture, was built between 1873 and 1927. It is located in front of the cricket stadium. Two statues stand out on the facade of the bell tower: St. Joseph with the baby Jesus and, at the top, Christ. The particularity of this church is its color which varies according to the successive renovations: sometimes white with gilding or entirely painted in a deep red.
