Covered market built in 1869, home to the Clock Tower and fountains designed by Lockwood Kipling

Its official name is Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai. This covered market was built in 1869. One of the main features is the clock tower, which is decorated with beautiful Victorian sculptures. It was the first building in the country to have electric lighting in 1882. There are fountains created by Lockwood Kipling, Rudyard Kipling's father. Outside, murals depict peasants in their daily lives. If you want to bring back spices from your trip, this is the place to buy them.

Dans un quartier très animé le marché de Crawford est un passage incontournable. D'abord le bâtiment est surprenant ensuite le marché est très propre et les couleurs et les odeurs flattant les sens : épices, fruits, fleurs, .... Un beau lieu pour faire ses achats.
