GOVERNMENT MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY

The gallery presents copies of bronze objects, miniatures and especially an amazing collection of modern art. The museum was designed to house the collection of the Central Museum in Lahore. At the time of partition, India recovered 40% of the collection. The highlight of this collection is the Gandhara statues representing Buddha. On the same platform, an exciting museum, the City Museum, traces the creation of Chandigarh, and a museum of natural history.
