LAKE NAWAL SAGAR

This artificial lake is visible from the fort and is located at the end of the old town. It attracts visitors, who enjoy beautiful, unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains. When it is full, the whole city is reflected in its waters. The show is then grandiose, especially at sunset. In the centre, a temple is dedicated to Varuna (Aryan wind god), but no pilgrims ever go there. Unfortunately, due to increasing periods of drought, the lake is often muddy or dry.
