Royal Palace in Rabat, housing a mosque for His Majesty Hassan II, whose purpose is to avoid crowds of people
A visit to the royal palace lacks interest since it is limited to a discreet glance at a respectable distance from the king's residence. To the right of the Ambassadors' Gate are the Royal Guard Barracks, the Royal School, the seat of government, the Royal Palace; and to the left, the Moulay Youssef Institute, the National Defence and the Ahl Fas Mosque. In the past, Hassan II used to go to Friday prayers at the mosque, where he could be seen. Today, a mosque has been built inside the palace to avoid crowding His Majesty.
