The oldest mosque in Tetouan, with a brick minaret limed many times, and a rectangular tower with an openwork.

Built in the oldest part of the city, this mosque of 1591 is the last witness of its time. According to historians, it was founded by an Andalusian family who came to settle in Tetouan at the end of the 15th century. The oldest mosque in Tetouan is easily identified by its brick minaret, which has been whitewashed many times. The rectangular tower with a green tiled honeycomb fresco is typical of Arab-Muslim art. The heavy green door lined with large copper nails is the other emblematic element of this building.
