120 km north of Kousséri is the small town of Blangoua, on the banks of Chari, in the immediate vicinity of Chad and the large lake of the same name.Located in the far north of Cameroon, in a region of low land, particularly hot and dry, at the end of a dusty track incorrectly indicated on road maps - where no sign signs are available and which is impracticable during the rainy season - Blangoua offers a complete change.Along the road you can see a few fields of millet and water points where the animals are refreshed. It is not uncommon to cross the Choa people's nomads area and their seasonal camps in straw. If you decide to try adventure and go to Blangoua, equip yourself with désensablement plates, several liters of water and jerricans. You will also need to take two bins before you reach the destination. A real expedition that will surely leave you unforgettable memories.Lake Chad and its canoes ballet, along with the skilful fishermen kotoko, offer a fascinating spectacle. This is the case for the Blangoua market, where the inhabitants of all the neighbouring villages, as well as many Chadians and Nigerians, are involved in all kinds of goods. Some Nigerians are offering gasoline, which the transit drivers usually buy to sell it two or three times its price on other markets.
