Since hospital structures are poorly developed in northern Cameroon, their precautions should be taken, especially in bush excursions. Some religious clinics or hospitals are scattered in the region and collect the sick in transit to Douala or Yaoundé. The Norwegian Protestant hospital in Ngaoundéré is part of it.

Hôpital norvégien Ngaoundéré
Le personnel de cet hôpital est très qualifié surtout les occidentaux. Par contre ce qu'il faut radicalement changer ce sont les règles d'hygiène en hospitalisation. En réanimation par exemple on fait le lit du malade avec un drap à la propreté douteuse voir sale et on fait assoir tous les garde-malades sur les pots (chaise-pots) des malades qui ne sont ni propres (et même s'ils l'étaient ce ne serait toujours pas hygiénique) ni neufs.
