MARIE-QUEEN BASILICA OF THE APOSTLES OF MVOLYÉ

Just outside Yaoundé to the south, on the right, is the hill of Mvolyé. The basilica was built on the site of a former church, combining wood, stone and metal in a futuristic architectural design. Inaugurated in 2006, the Basilica of Mary Queen of the Apostles rests on 12 arches of precious wood, a material featured throughout the building. Bubinga, Moabi and many other species of precious wood from Cameroon's forests.
