After Oni, the road to Chovi climbs towards the summits. In the middle of the upper valley surrounded by peaks, the ancient Soviet town of Outséra has a number of impressive sources: 28 in all! The water has a very high calcium content, which means that the surrounding rivers have an orange colour. One can see, below the road on the Rioni, one of those sources where everyone stops filling bottles. From all the thermal facilities, a sanatorium is still standing and very good.
