Founded in 1946. A 360-degree history museum dedicated to the history of Sakhalin Island and the Kuril Archipelago. You will discover an extremely rich and eclectic collection: natural sciences (fauna, flora, mineralogy), oceanography, indigenous cultures (clothing, crafts...), World War II and post-war, military and prison history, etc. The museum has a research laboratory and organizes events all year round.
