Belogorsk, 66,183 inhabitants, is located 130 km from Blagovechtchensk. It is an important railway junction at km 7 866 of the Trans-Siberian Railway. It is a small industrial town without much tourist interest. One usually waits there for the train if one has decided to make a detour via Blagovechtchensk. The stopover is not very exciting, although it is an opportunity to see some of the country. However, if you are in transit and have a little time to lose, you should know that the station is right in the city centre, which you can take a quick tour of. Perhaps you will have time to visit the small Museum of Local Traditions (muzey-belogorsk.ru). There are several hotels and restaurants.
