The Citadelle, a long way from today's 13-hectare park, was originally a hexagonal military creation by Vauban in 1681, providing the most secure guard for the Rhine bridge. The moat along the path is pleasantly planted with iris and water lilies and populated by numerous animals. Here you'll find quiet benches, basketball and petanque courts, sports equipment and children's play areas. This ideal picnic spot is both serene and fun, with cultural events and shows on offer in summer.
