Museum tracing Strasbourg's urban history from the Middle Ages to the creation of European institutions

Housed in a former butcher's shop dating from 1587, the Historical Museum traces Strasbourg's urban history from the Middle Ages to the creation of European institutions. Its 1,700m2 of exhibits include works of art, figurines, flags and models. The museum offers both a chronological and thematic tour: from the Holy Roman Empire to the Reformation, via the royal and revolutionary periods. The highlight of the visit is a 70m2 relief map dating from 1727, which reproduces the town and its surroundings at a scale of 1/600.

Хороший краеведческий музей! Экспозиция оформлена интересно и логично, от основания города к нашим дням. Тексты около экспонатов не скучные и не длинные, хотелось прочитать. Особенно порадовало наличие интерактивных деталей: можно примерить средневековый шлем и модную женскую шляпку, подержать в руках ядро и старинную «чашку», потрогать ткани, из которых шили одежду. Это круто!
