Museum tracing Strasbourg's urban history from the Middle Ages to the creation of European institutions
Housed in a former butcher's shop dating from 1587, the Historical Museum traces Strasbourg's urban history from the Middle Ages to the creation of European institutions. Its 1,700m2 of exhibits include works of art, figurines, flags and models. The museum offers both a chronological and thematic tour: from the Holy Roman Empire to the Reformation, via the royal and revolutionary periods. The highlight of the visit is a 70m2 relief map dating from 1727, which reproduces the town and its surroundings at a scale of 1/600.

Seuls bemols : nous avons été à ce musée le dimanche 18 mai, or la veille au soir le samedi 17 mai c'était la nuit des musées où tous les musées étaient gratuits et ouverts, or aucune communication auprès des hôtels (enfin du nôtre à Hannong pas d'info). Seule info : affiche sur la porte des musées. Le lendemain les musées n'ouvraient qu'à partir de midi (normal vu que la veille les musées fermaient à 23h-minuit), mais encore une fois aucune information sauf une affiche sur le musée alsacien, rien sur le musée historique à part fermé. Nous avons croisé une strasbourgeoise qui n'avait pas eu non plus l'information que le veille c'était la nuit gratuite des musées et que les musées ouvraient qu'à midi le lendemain. Bref un manque de communication qui est très dommage.
Nous n'avons pas eu de proposition d'un tarif qui permettrait de visiter 2/3 musées moins chers dans la journée, il faut payer 7€ à chaque musée, un tarif groupée pour la visite de plusieurs musées serait intéressant pour inciter les gens à en visiter plusieurs.
