Museum tracing Strasbourg's urban history from the Middle Ages to the creation of European institutions

Housed in a former butcher's shop dating from 1587, the Historical Museum traces Strasbourg's urban history from the Middle Ages to the creation of European institutions. Its 1,700m2 of exhibits include works of art, figurines, flags and models. The museum offers both a chronological and thematic tour: from the Holy Roman Empire to the Reformation, via the royal and revolutionary periods. The highlight of the visit is a 70m2 relief map dating from 1727, which reproduces the town and its surroundings at a scale of 1/600.

Bombenmuseum - toll gemacht. Habe viel gelernt. Audio Guide ist sehr gut und die Exponate sind auch in deutscher Sprache beschriftet.

Well worth the visit. If you want to understand more about how Strasbourg became what it is, make a point of visiting this museum. In particular, there’s a magnificent and massive relief map of the city and the surrounding area, as they were in 1722 - great to compare with how things are now.

Tolles Museum zur Geschichte von Straßburg. Es lohnt sich, den kostenlosen (unter anderem deutschsprachig verfügbaren) Audioguide mitzunehmen. Für den Besuch sollte man 2h einplanen, wenn man alle Audiobeschreibungen anhören will.
