Housed in the former great butcher's shop of 1587, the Historical Museum retraces the urban history of Strasbourg from the Middle Ages to the creation of the European institutions. On 1,700m2, works of art and other objects: figurines, flags, models... The museum offers a chronological and thematic tour: from the Holy Empire to the Reformation, through the royal and revolutionary periods. Highlight of the visit: a relief map dating from 1727 with a surface area of 70m2 which reproduces the town and its surroundings in the 1/600th century. Finally, the museography emphasizes interactivity with numerous terminals and other multimedia animations along the way.
