The Omsk Museum of Fine Arts is the city's main tourist attraction. Founded in 1924, this museum located in the former palace of the General-Governor is one of the most important museums in Siberia and has more than 25,000 works of art including those of famous Russian painters such as Repin, Levitan, Kramskoi, Surikov, Vrubel (who was born in Omsk) and Roerikh. Noteworthy is a painting by Doubrovski, The Rodina (Fatherland), from 1911.
