Bardaï is the capital of Tibesti, the city is located at 2 000 metres above sea level in a magnificent sandstone site surrounded by a beautiful palm grove. There is a post, a hospital without drugs unfortunately, grocery stores. There is also a military base and an airfield. Bardaï has experienced many vicissitudes between rebellions and wars. Today, relative calm has returned and Bardaï again looks like a beautiful Saharan village with a magnificent palmeraie palm grove between the cliffs.
