CAT ISLAND RAKE N’SCRAPE FESTIVAL

The rake n'scrape is a danceable and moving music inspired by the songs of the slaves deported to Cat Island for cotton exploitation. This music is still all the rage in the Bahamas! It is the subject of a festival on Cat Island every year in June, at the time of Labour Day. It showcases the sensual and rhythmic atmosphere of the island's best rake n'scrape music, performed by local and national artists.
