Originally located behind Rawson Square, along Woodes Rogers Walk, the basketry market fell victim to the fire that ravaged the neighbourhood in the early 2000s. More than a basketry market, it is a large craft market with overcrowded stalls in tight rows in a beautiful colonial building. Craftsmen and merchants sell their wares in a colourful, noisy and friendly atmosphere. Some of them weave and embroider baskets and hats, dolls, mats and other basketry items themselves..

Très touristique.
Il s'agit d'une part d'un marché artisanal et d'autre part de boutiques vendant des souvenirs type : tee shirts, mugs,
etc ...
Ce marché s'adresse particulièrement aux croisiéristes qui accostent pour la journée, le port se trouve à quelques mètres.
