Around 30 km from Salalah, Taqah is an oasis drowned in coconut palms that developers have transformed into the local Cancún - a resort with a marina. The village remains authentic and still boasts pretty old houses adorned with carved wooden windows. In winter, its inhabitants fish for sardines. At this time of year, millions of fish are often seen drying on the beaches, to be used as cattle feed during the dry season. Taqah is bordered to the east by cliffs, from the top of which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the coastline. If you're lucky, you may catch a glimpse of dolphins dancing in the currents a few hundred meters from the sand.
