THE ROCK GARDEN

Sculpted by wind and water over millions of years, this curious collection of astonishingly shaped limestone and sandstone rocks covers an area of around 3 km² and has been identified as one of the Sultanate's 25 most important sites in terms of geology. Scientists date most of the stone blocks at over 46 million years old. It's a creative fantasy as only nature can produce, with rocks shaped like horses, mushrooms and so on. Don't make the trip on purpose, just drop in if you're in the area.
