CORNISH RESTAURANT
Read moreThe Cornish Restaurant is the restaurant located next to the Fish Market. The menu is of course mainly composed of seafood and fresh fish from the Gulf, cooked in all sorts of ways, but you can also order Indian, Arab, Omani dishes, salads, pasta, burgers... The choice is immense and the quality is assured. Instead of air-conditioned rooms, we prefer the roof terrace when it's not too hot, even just to drink a fresh fruit juice after a visit to the fish market in its modern dhow-shaped building.
SUNLIGHT RESTAURANT AND COFFEE-SHOP
Read moreOn site or to take, the dishes shown on the menu are numerous. Arabic, Chinese or Indian cuisine, what to eat at low prices. The interior is clean: a few small tables arranged in a pale pink decor, a B-series canteen style.
OMAR AL-KHAYYAM RESTAURANT
Read moreThis restaurant has already proved its worth in several cities, such as Muscat, since 1975. The interior is rather basic, with some artifices of different styles hanging on the wall: a dead nature, an Indian strip… Was it possible to mean the different origins of the contents of the plates? It does not matter, however, because the result is quite satisfactory. The eyes are closed, while still wary of spicy dishes!
THE STEAKHOUSE
Read moreIn a simple and chic contemporary setting in tune with the hotel's standing, you can enjoy the best meat of Sohar here. Notice to carnivores! The different pieces are served grilled with a sauce of your choice and an accompaniment of chips or vegetables. Also some seafood dishes for lighter appetites. Special mention for the Black Angus and its green pepper sauce or the surf and turf - a dish combining red meat and seafood. Very nice wine list and efficient service. In short, a flawless one!
THE RESTAURANT
Read moreTake the Crowne on the quiet side, i.e. opposite the road, aim for the terrace under the stars and that's it for the outside. Indoors, you'll appreciate the warm decor of the room. It is the hotel's main restaurant, open to all for breakfast. The choice is given between a menu of salads, mezzés, pastas, pizzas, ready-made meals, etc. or thematic buffets for those who are very hungry or who like to taste everything. The local clientele is loyal, willingly elegant, and often interested in the fine wine list.
LOBNAN AL AKHDHAR
Read moreThis Lebanese restaurant, well known to Sohar locals, serves its perfectly spiced grilled fish in a cheerful, noisy dining room. There's a Family corner, for those who've integrated this behavioral practice. From time to time, a horn sounds in the street and the driver's order is taken directly from the lowered window. The Levantine flavors are as seductive and fresh as ever: salads, vegetable purées and these spicy brochettes are a delight. No alcohol, but you can be comforted by an excellent minty lemonade.
