Less impressive than the atrium of the Ritz Al Bustan hotel, but more central and very oriental too, the lobby of the Grand Hyatt hotel is a chic, calm and hushed place where, amidst the exotic ballet of men in dishdashas, you can enjoy an English-style High Tea with scones and savoury delights, or just a drink with a few savoury or sweet snacks. Popular with Omanis, the place, renovated in 2025 without altering the stained-glass windows, sculptures or arabesques, has a real sense of disorientation, making you feel like a guest in a grand Arab residence.
