It's THE palace's beach restaurant, away from the complex and as close to the water as possible: a spotlight! Let the chic, minimalist charm of this contemporary rectangular room and its terrace do the rest. Even inside, the interplay of huge bay windows lets you flirt with the waves. The menu features seafood and Premium meats served with a choice of sauces and accompaniments. The open-plan kitchen, outdoor lounges and marine-inspired decor create an elegant atmosphere that can also be enjoyed at the bar for a refined aperitif or after-dinner drink.

The cowhide tapestries immediately set the mood for this warm, elegant steakhouse. A la carte: first-rate meat. Attentive waiters and a passionate chef come to the tables to present the different cuts and their ideal cooking, mainly over a wood fire. On Thursday evenings, it's impossible to miss the exceptional Gaucho Night, when you can sample several pieces of marinated meat cooked on large skewers.

A balcony overlooking the sea like no other, this is one of the capital's finest culinary settings, perched in the fresh air on the spur of the Crowne Plaza. From the top of the cliff, you can see the whole city, miles of beaches and thousands of stars. A musical lounge atmosphere (DJ) for a panoramic drink overlooking the lights of the Qurm promenade or a fine dinner in the breeze, by candlelight. From Fine de Claire oysters to Japanese sushi and Angus beef ribeye, the menu features fusion cuisine, accompanied by a fine Cape wine.

It is a large and beautiful wooden house, extended by a terrace as close as possible to the sea: the most romantic table of the immense Shangri-La complex and its multiple gustatory proposals. If you want to dine at the water's edge, you might as well enjoy fish and seafood from local fishing, accompanied by Omani products or prepared in the Omani way. Shrimps, mussels, lobster, fish... can be eaten according to taste and mood, as you can choose your own way of preparation. In a democratic concern, a corner of the menu is dedicated to carnivores.

On the first floor of the Royal Opera's superb shopping mall, this restaurant offers an oriental, sober and chic setting. Its speciality is meat: beef, lamb or veal, grilled and served on a wooden plank with chips. The dishes are not cheap but the quality is unquestionable, the butcher's pieces are moreover presented at the stall in the restaurant's hall. Special mention for the Tomahauwk which the chef will be happy to cut up at your table. Some dishes also for non-carnivores and vegetarians.

Perched on the roof of the Grand Hyatt Hotel Annex, in the gentle breeze of the Arabian Sea, The Grill House's panoramic terrace offers spectacular views of the Arabian Sea on one side and the city on the other. Enjoy a good grill, meat or seafood, salads, seafood... all accompanied by a small glass of wine. For dinner with a friendly freebooter or with the family, this is one of the nicest outdoor tables in this part of town with an honest price-quality ratio.
