No doubt the UNESCO World Heritage Site is the least known UNESCO World Heritage Site. Most of these prehistoric works of art date back to more than 25 000 years (Neolithic and Iron Age). Although the area is a research area, three sites can be visited by reservation : first, Canada do Inferno. This is a 2-hour visit to discover prehistoric paintings, but also works carved in stone during the th century. A little further, the visit of the huge paintings of the Ribeira from Piscos to Muxagata will take you 3 hours. Finally, the site of Penascosa, near the village of Castelo Melhor, is known for its prehistoric images showing goats and became the symbol of the entire archaeological park.
