This church has a facade with a bell tower topped by chamfered crenellations.

This former cathedral church, called Nossa Senhora da Praça, was built in the 16th century in the Manueline style, but modifications introduced by successive bishops have caused it to lose its original character. It is a fortress church: its façade features a bell tower topped by chamfered battlements. Inside, the Baroque-style choir is entirely lined with azulejos and marble in various shades, and the organ is magnificent.
