This fort is composed of four walls with a fortress in the center, in which the governor's house is located.

Anterior to Graça, this fort had an innovative geometry for its time, as it was built before Vauban's citadels, anticipating Pagan's fortification system. It consists of a star-shaped polygon with a fortress in the center, housing the governor's house and a church. The fort had to be ready for battle at all times, given the number of threats from the frontiers. During your visit, don't miss the military museum, housed in several rooms with weapons from all eras.
