Nyakarimbi, located at a high altitude (1577 m) in the Kirehe district, stretches along the road linking Kigali to Tanzania. It is not lacking in charm, with its colorful facades and tree stands decorated in the "Imigongo" style, using cow dung and natural pigments. The Kakira-Art Imigongo cooperative was for a long time the main point of interest, to have the chance to see the whole manufacturing process. However, today, many cooperatives reproduce this ancestral manufacturing process to make contemporary decorative works that you can buy in Kigali.
