Fresh or dried fish (there are many small shops selling sambazas, the "sardines of Lake Kivu"). But also fruits and vegetables in profusion. We like to come here to soak up the atmosphere, the colours, the smells, and to get a glimpse of the agricultural dynamism which is one of the most visible riches of the country. Rwandans farm every single piece of land, an undeniable source of income for the rural population. It is always interesting to walk around the markets to get a glimpse of the local economy!
