The Muhabura is the historic city hotel (1954), which among other things has housed Dian Fossey (in room 12, the most expensive!). Until the early 2000s, it was the only one on the road. Today, it faces competition from many hotels. The rooms (on the same level with a terrace corner) offer basic comfort, without much cachet. The oldest rooms (9, 10, 11 and 12) have a little more character. But unfortunately, this emblematic hotel lacks a little soul and renewal. Possibility to pitch your tent in the garden.

Cet hôtel d'un excellent rapport qualité/prix est idéalement situé (localisation GPS : 1° 30' 1.28"" S - 29° 37' 58,48" E) si vous optez pour une des activités qui démarrent du centre de Kinigi (ascension de volcans, visite aux singes ou aux gorilles). Une chambre double avec petit salon, grand lit double et salle de bains équipée d'une baignoire/douche, d'un évier et d'un W.C. vous en coûtera 35.000 RWF. Petit plus, comme toutes les excusions débutent à 7 heures à Kinigi (qui se trouve à +/- 20 minutes de l'hôtel) l'Hôtel Muhabura vous permet de prendre un petit-déjeuner complet dès 5 heures du matin.
