Sports museum named after Freddie Tait, an amateur champion who won major tournaments in 1896 and 1898.
Kimberley Golf Club was founded in 1890, reflecting not only the appeal of this age-old game, but also the history and heritage of this part of South Africa and the Northern Cape Province. It is here that the Freddie Tait Golf Museum, the first museum of the sport on the continent, is located. Freddie Tait was an amateur champion from Great Britain who won major tournaments in 1896 and 1898. The golf course is a creation of the famous designer Bob Grimsdell. The layout is unusual, especially with a 19th hole.
